The Parent Association sponsors events throughout the school year to further promote and strengthen the community amongst parents, teachers and children. Our joint efforts benefit the educational and cultural development of our students. Parents are always welcomed to join the association, to share ideas and be a part of the decision making process.

Our goal is to make every experience and event a success for the benefit of our school. Our focus is on making our community stronger, involving everyone, and making our children proud. We rely on our school faculty and staff to inform us of our immediate school needs; our vision is for complete parent communication and involvement.

Our fundraising goals are to supplement the school’s needs and to provide the school community with fun activities and events that promote a sense of community and tradition. These are events that the school has no funds to provide on its own. For instance, the PA hosts and organizes the Welcome Back Lunch, Thanksgiving Food Drive, the Book Fairs, Valentine’s Day Dance, Teacher Appreciation Week, and Field Day. The PA also funds capital expenses like playground equipment and computers, and teacher’s wish lists which in the past have included upgrading to flexible seating, subscriptions to online platforms for teaching, manipulatives for the classroom, and needed educational materials.

The Parent Association meets the second Tuesday of the month from 8:30- 9:15 am in the Library. On meeting days, early arrival drop-off is available for preschool parents at no charge.

While all parents are part of the PA, not all can be involved or need to be involved in all aspects. We have established various committees to entice all levels of interest. We encourage and welcome your participation on one or more of the PA committees as follows: Special Events, Annual GALA (Night Under the Stars), and Fundraising. We are also seeking two Faculty Liaisons. Individuals who will be the connectors between PA and MSPCS staff, at the elementary school and the preschool.

A Room Parent serves as a link between the parents in their child’s class, the teacher, the school, and the Parent Association on all social, fundraising, and school participatory events. A Room Parent should be a support for their child’s teacher in facilitating and coordinating room activities and classroom parties.

Hello MSPCS Parents!

On behalf of the Parent Association, I am excited to welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year! My name is Danielle Lee, a.k.a. Xavier Gonzalez’s mother, and I will be your PA President. I am pleased and grateful to have a part of the trinity between church, school and family that is MSPCS.

All parents of MSPCS are welcome and encouraged to take part in the PA meetings and activities. You can participate as little or as much as your schedule allows. Volunteering is a wonderful way to get to know other parents at the school and the perfect way to be involved in your child’s school life. Your involvement will give you the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping MSPCS, and that at the same time you are helping those that matter most in your life… your children.

If you are unable to participate, which we understand is a reality for some, we ask for your trust and support. We want the school to be successful, we want ALL the students to have an exceptional learning experience and we appreciate your faith in us, as you have in the teachers and faculty.

There are many activities to look forward to that make our school community so special. Some of the events we are planning for next year are The Welcome Back Lunch, Gallery Night, Parent Social Nights, Book Fairs, The Fun Run and our annual fundraising gala, the Night Under the Stars. All of these activities cannot take place without your support, participation and enthusiasm!

If you are a returning parent then you know what a special school MSPCS is. As a parent it has been a welcome opportunity to help expand my son’s educational experience through the PA. I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible. Please don’t hesitate to contact me or any of the PA Board members with your suggestions, comments or questions.  We want to hear from you! Together, we can make this another amazing year at MSPCS!

Sincerely yours,

Danielle Renee Lee
