Overnight Field Trip
The 4th grade went on a three-day field trip to Saint Augustine, Florida in March. This trip aligned with the Social Studies curriculum of studying Early Florida Exploration and Colonization. Sites visited were:

  • Fort Mose
  • Old Florida Museum
  • Pirate & Treasure Museum
  • Colonial Quarter
  • Flagler Memorial Presbyterian Church
  • Flagler Walking Tour
  • Spanish Military Hospital
  • Fountain of Youth
  • Old Jail
  • Scenic Cruise
  • Oldest House
  • Lightner Museum
  • Flagler College Legacy tour
  • Ripley’s “ Believe It or Not” Museum
  • City Tour on Sightseeing Vehicle

Student gained a hands on and first hand experience of Pre-Columbian Florida, exploration and settlement of Florida, growth of Florida, industrialization and emergence of modern Florida.

To align the trip with our school mission, prior to their visit, the 4th graders collected and delivered goods such as toiletries and school supplies for the boys housed by the St. Augustine Youth Services.
